OS and Language Questions
In the Nerf/Cam's group meeting with Dr. Brooks today, he raised a question. What OS are we going to use? I was under the impression that Windows XP was the only option, but apparently Linux is on the table as well.
Was anyone not planning on using XP?
Also, what language are we all using? I was assuming C/C++. And is there a specific IDE we're going to work on? Just to make sure everything compiles correctly? Visual Studio, CodeBlocks, DevC++?

Re: OS and Language Questions
I think there has been a discussion of using Flash on the GUI, so that does *hopefully* remove some of the issues of what OS to choose. And a C / C++ language I think would be the best, since most of us should be most comfortable in that.

Well the GUI team doesn't need to worry about what OS we are using since they are going to running on a server. I was planning on running on XP using C++.

I think the comm group would probably like C or C++ since we are going to have to do some socket programming. We only know how to do that with C calls.
