Please read the following and let me know of any changes to be made. The "hit detection" part will change based on the sensor groups meeting with Dr. Brooks tomorrow:

System Specification Addendum

The operating system to be used is Windows XP and programming will be done in C/C++ or a compatible language. Apache will be used on the laptop and the computer.

The webcam will process at 3 FPS with a range of motion of 100° left and right and 30° up and down, with a reference direction of the robots forward motion.

The dart gun will have a range of motion of 90° left and right and 15° up, with a reference direction of the robots forward motion. The launch range of the dart will be five feet at a minimum.

Hit detection will be dependent on the sensor solution. It will be at a minimum a portion of the robot that is six inches in diameter.

The robot itself will have forward, backward, left and right motions.

Overall, the communication system will have a lag time under one second from user input to action for all commands except fire. Fire will result in a lag time under 10 seconds until launch due to dart gun limitations.

It might be better for things like the webcam fps and the range of motion of the dart gun, etc, to have the words 'at least' tacked on in front of them. Also, maybe be more specific about the 'computer' as to which it is?
