Sys Arch and Gantt Chart

Post  memaier on Sun Jan 11, 2009 11:45 pm

For now the Sys Arch Doc is posted below and the Gantt Chart is available by request (until I figure out how to post it):

System Architecture Document

Purpose: This document entails all system components as well as the class members that are responsible for implementing the component. It also includes a higher level description of the deliverables for each group.

Components:
Web Interface
Group: Ryan Bontreger, Chris Abbott, David Marshall, Alex Bussell, Paul Flegel
This group is responsible for creating a web based user interface. They are also responsible for communications between the server and client, programming the interface buttons and retrieving images.

Nerf Gun
Group: Jonathan Dinger, David Ho, Dustin Evans
This group is responsible for interfacing the Nerf gun with the robot and the web interface. They will reverse engineer the Nerf gun, implement directional and firing commands, and integrate their component with the rest of the system.

Rover
Group: Michael King, Jesse Hoffman, Shawn Hanoly, Brittany Harris
This group is responsible for basic robot movement functionality and functional interfacing with other groups.

Camera
Group: Brian Peasley, Stephan Wesson, Christopher Cherry
This group is responsible for capturing an image from the camera, pan/tilt/zoom of the camera, and decoding/encoding the image to/from a JPEG.

Sensor
Group: Mary Maier, Keith Schuck, Rob Brenan, Joshua Hilley
This group is responsible for discovering a solution for sensing the proximity of darts to the robot under fire. They will then have to interface with the robot and the web group in order to relay that the robot has been hit.

System Architecture Document

Purpose:
This document entails all system components as well as the class members that are responsible for implementing the component. It also includes a higher level description of the deliverables for each group.

Components:
Web Interface
Group: Ryan Bontreger, Chris Abbott, David Marshall, Alex Bussell, Paul Flegel
This group will consist of two smaller groups, the user interface group and the communications group.
User Interface: This group is responsible for creating a web based user interface and gathering images from the camera.
Communications: This group is responsible for communications between the server and client, programming the interface buttons and communicating with the dart gun.

Additional Notes:
The group leaders reserve the right to reassign members to groups in need, as agreed upon by all members of the teams. If a group finishes their assigned tasks before the integration date, the members will be reassigned to groups in need of additional support. In the case that no additional support is required, optional components will then be investigated.
